On Cinco de Mayo

Firstly, Happy Cinco de Mayo!

This is a significant holiday to the United States as many historians think that the French presence in Mexico during 1862 would have significantly strengthened the cause of the Confederacy since Napoleon III publicly stated his disgust for the Monroe Doctrine and wanted the south to succeed in its secession to lower the strength of the Americas.

So thank the wonderful soldiers who fought off the most trained and powerful land army of the day with little more than raw recruits and freedom fighters.
